John Meder was
born on April 1, 1936 in Montrose Michigan. He was raised on a farm and
was one of 8 children, 3 girls and 5 boys with John being the oldest
boy. He has three children, two daughters, one in Sebring, one in Port
St. Lucie and one son in West Palm Beach. He also has two Grandsons and
one Great Grandson in West Palm Beach. John was in the U.S. Air Force
for 4 years. John has been in broadcasting since 1959. He had his first
job in radio was in St. Johns Michigan. He came to Florida in 1966 and
worked at WSUN radio and television in St. Pete. He was part owner of a
radio station in Cocoa Beach. He has worked as ON AIR TALENT, Station
Manger, National Rep and Sales in the past 48 years in many cities
including Detroit, Philadelphia, Miami, Las Vegas, and West Palm Beach.
He came to Sebring in 1986.
John has served on many local boards of community service and is a past President of the Sebring Chamber of Commerce. He has been involved with Special Events Committee, Friends of Highlands Hammock State Park and also was President of the Humane Society.
