This Saturday, you can help send the Sebring AAA 9 & 10 year old baseball team to the World Series in Ruston, Louisiana. From 10:30am – 8pm, head to the Heacock Insurance Building in Sebring to purchase burgers, hot dogs, tater tots or drinks and 100% of the proceeds will help cover trip expenses.

The Spring Lake Community Center will hold a vendor round up this Saturday from 9am – 3pm. Enjoy shopping from over 15 vendors, and having a bite to eat from Devil Dogs and Heavenly Scoops food trucks. Attendees are encouraged to bring a men’s or women’s t-shirt or pair of underwear to donate to Hands for Homeless.

Giddy Up Junction Vacation Bible School will be held at Placid Lakes Baptist Church July 22nd – 26th from 5:15 – 8pm. Classes are offered for ages 4 thru adult. Supper will be served at 5:15 each night. For more information, call 863-465-5126 or register at placidlakesbc.com

The Aktion Club of Highlands County, Highlands Moose Lodge 2494 and American Legion Post 69 are joining forces to build 38 care packages for a U.S. Air Force squadron in Saudia Arabia. The public can help by donating hygiene items, non-perishable food items, reading material, games and more. To donate cash, make checks payable to Aktion Club of Highlands County at P.O. Box 1431, Avon Park, FL 33826. Deadline for donations is Aug. 15, so the packages can be shipped out before Sept. 11. For more details call Cindy Marshall at 863-443-0438

Truth Athletics last basketball camp of the summer will take place July 22nd – 26th at First Baptist Church in Sebring. Kids from 2nd – 10th grade can attend the camp at a cost of $120 per child, which includes a free t-shirt. The camp runs from 9am – noon each day. Truthathletics@comcast.net or call 850-322-8398
