John Meder is no fool, but he could hold the title of Mr. April Fool’s Day.
He was born on a farm in Michigan on April 1, 1936, which happened to be his twin sisters’ 4th birthday. His son Mark was born on, you guessed it, April 1, 1966.
John is a veteran of the US Air Force, where he served his country for four years. He’s definitely a family man, with 2 daughters, 1 son, 2 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
His career in radio started at a tiny station in Hastings, Michigan where he met and married his wife Sharon. Like almost everyone in radio, he moved around a bit, working in Michigan, Las Vegas, Tampa, and West Palm Beach before landing in Sebring in 1986.
John still likes getting up at 3:45AM to prepare for his morning show and get your day started right. When he’s not at OJ 99.1, he’s working on his collection of antique radios and microphones and supporting the Humane Society.
